Ivan Chang serves as the Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Wonderlabs.io. Through its seven campuses in Indonesia, Vietnam and Singapore, Wonderlabs.io helps companies build and manage offshore software development teams. As the Executive Chairman, Ivan also oversees investor relations and helped the firm acquire more than S$500,000 in start-up capital in 2015 from SPH Media Fund and Click Ventures. Wonderlabs.io has successfully serviced a wide range of clients, among them the National University of Singapore and MyRepublic Group.

A firm believer in giving back to the enterprise community, Ivan also spearheaded SMUpreneurs, the Singapore Management University (SMU)’s largest alumni interest group. Founded in 2015 to promote entrepreneurship amongst alumni, the group boasts a membership of more than 300 businesses founded or run by an SMU alumnus. Its events and programmes have also engaged more than 750 alumni.

Being an SMU alumni has reminded Ivan of the importance of a holistic education for the next generation. In this vein, Wonderlabs Foundation, the company’s philanthropic arm, has gifted the university with an endowment fund. Valued at S$200,000, the fund aims to help less-privileged students attend overseas exposure programme.

Ivan also volunteers extensively with Make-A-Wish Foundation Singapore and has granted more than 100 wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses. Having contributed to the cause for more than 10 years, Ivan was appointed as a director on the board of Make-A- Wish Foundation Singapore in 2018. His efforts to nurture and uplift Singapore’s youth were also recognised by the National Youth Council, which made Ivan a Board Member of the Youth Corps Singapore.

A serial entrepreneur, Ivan began his start-up journey at the age of 14. His first company, an apparel printing and corporate gifts firm, was set up with just S$72 and sold five years later. His journey reached a new high 2011, when he co-founded his first start-up with Keith Tan. That social enterprise was acquired in 2015 by a Singapore-based company, in an acquisition valued at S$530,000.

Ivan graduated from SMU in 2014 a Bachelor of Business Management. Besides a Bachelors in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, he also holds various professional qualifications, among them Chartered Accountant (non-practising) and Certified Financial Analyst. In his spare time, Ivan is an adventurous traveller, with a freefall parachuting and skydiving licence.
